Coast Guard Foundation opens 2016 scholarship season

The Coast Guard Foundation’s 2016 scholarship season is now open for children of enlisted, active duty reserve and retired U.S. Coast Guard men and women. In 2015, the Foundation provided more than $400,000 in scholarships to ease the financial burden of college for Coast Guard families, and ensure Coast Guard kids can afford to reach their higher education dreams.

2015 Coast Guard Foundation scholarship program now open

The Coast Guard Foundation scholarship program is soliciting applications for the 2015-2016 academic school year starting Feb. 1 – March 15, 2015. Considerations for the selection of awardees include scholastic promise, motivation, moral character, leadership qualities, and good citizenship. Priority will be given to children of active-duty members.

In 2013, the scholarship fund awarded more than $445,000 to more than 60 deserving Coast Guard children. We are proud to say that we were able to provide every qualified applicant with a grant this year.
