This year’s theme is ‘Ships Bring the World to Us,’ and students are asked to submit an original poster creatively depict the theme and the importance of ships and the types of cargo they transport.

Six finalists will be picked from grades K-5 and the other six will be picked from grades 6-12. All finalists will receive a certificate of recognition, and one finalist from each grade category will receive a $100 cash prize in addition to a Coast Guard-themed package.

All 12 finalist’s artwork will be featured on the Coast Guard, NAMEPA and other partner’s websites, as well as showcased in a 2017 calendar.

The contest is a great way to share the talents of Coast Guard youth with the entire workforce and shipping communities. So channel that creative energy and make a ‘Ships Bring the World to Us’ masterpiece!
