National Domestic Violence Awareness Month – The risks & resources

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month — observed every year to raise awareness, promote the resources that are available, renew our commitment to building healthy relationships, and promote offender accountability.

This year, the campaign emphasizes the impact domestic violence has on children, families and mission readiness.

The following video features Coast Guard leaders, spouses and children describing the risks associated with domestic violence, as well as some of the resources available to Coast Guardsmen and their families.

For more information about the resources available through the Coast Guard Family Advocacy Program, take a look at the commandant instruction.
