State of the Coast Guard 2017

Last week, Admiral Zukunft held his third State of the Coast Guard Address. He started his remarks with a single word that represents the men and women of our Coast Guard: phenomenal. You – our active, reserve, civil service and auxiliary members – are at the very heart of what has made this an exceptional year for our Coast Guard. You truly are phenomenal.

holiday message

From the Commandant: Best wishes this holiday season

Our Coast Guard is in demand worldwide, and I am inspired when I observe our 88,000 active duty, civilian, reserve, and auxiliary members carrying out or supporting our missions. And, all of us are supported by family and friends who make up our larger Coast Guard family. Many of you will be celebrating with your loved ones this holiday season, and we must also remember those standing the watch in Service to Nation.

The Leadership Council

Today, the Coast Guard’s Leadership Council commenced its 9th meeting under the direction of Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Paul Zukunft. Formally established 18 years ago, the Leadership Council is the Commandant’s senior-most, formal decision-making and advisory body.

From the Commandant: Standing the Watch

For those who can join friends, family and loved ones over the holiday season, Fran and I encourage you to make the most of every moment as we honor those who are on watch tonight, and every night, protecting the freedoms we so enjoy.

2015 State of the Coast Guard Address

From the Commandant: 2015 State of the Coast Guard Address

Earlier this week, I spoke before Congressional members, Department of Homeland Security leaders and Coast Guard stakeholders at my first State of the Coast Guard Address as your Commandant. I began by talking about you – the 88,000 active duty, civilian, reserve and auxiliary members of the United States Coast Guard.
