Tuition assistance benefits back to 100 percent

If you’re looking to use the Coast Guard’s tuition assistance, TA, benefits to further your education, you should be aware of the new updates to the TA program. Recently, the Coast Guard announced that tuition assistance would cover 100 percent of tuition costs, up to $4,000 per year. This is an increase from the previous limit of 75 percent of the tuition costs.

Cost-sharing reinstated for Coast Guard Tuition Assistance Program

Effective immediately, the Coast Guard is reinstating cost sharing for its Tuition Assistance Program in Fiscal Year 2014 for the first time since 2002 after reductions to its training budget.

Tuition Assistance: Expanded eligibility through Sept. 30

Effective immediately, the Coast Guard Tuition Assistance program is now open to all active duty members, including E-7 and above, officers, and Reserve members on long-term active duty orders issued for over 180 days, for programs at all degree levels, until Sept. 30, 2013.
