Reserve Program Administrators, RPAs, are specialists who fill an essential role in managing the Coast Guard Reserve Program. RPAs are Reserve officers on full-time active duty for the purpose of organizing, administering, recruiting, instructing and training members of the Reserve Component, RC.

Coast Guard shifts communication method away from CGMS

Beginning August 3, 2015, the Coast Guard is shifting from its traditional communication method of sending all official information via the Coast Guard Messaging System to using today’s technology for exchanging official information. After the shut down authorized personnel will have four communication methods to send and receive official information.

Cybersecurity notices to be issued June 8-19, 2015

Beginning June 8, 2015, and continuing through June 19, 2015, OPM will be sending notifications to individuals whose PII was potentially compromised in cybersecurity incident affecting its systems and data that may have exposed the Personally Identifiable Information. More than 8,000 civilian Coast Guard employees may have been affected.


Coast Guard Special Needs Program 2015 enrollment deadline approaching

The Coast Guard Office of Work-Life is reminding all active duty members and selected reserve members on orders for 181 days or more who have dependent family members diagnosed with medical, psychological, physical, or educational special needs to ensure all enrollment documentation for the Special Needs Program be updated by Sept. 30, 2015, or be administratively closed on Oct. 1, 2015.
