054/17_ACN – Duty to People – Human Capital Strategy Initiative (HCS) – Enlisted Assignment Priority

This ALCOAST announces changes to assignment priority (AP) policy for active duty enlisted assignments, contained in REF A, and completion of a working group comprised of members from the Office of Military Personnel, Policy and Standards Division (CG-1331), CG PSC (EPM), Area and field-level Command Master Chiefs (CMCs), Rating Force Master Chiefs (RFMCs), and Headquarters Program Managers to review policies and procedures governing AP. Enlisted APs are critical in the enlisted assignment process, particularly for arduous or hard-to-fill assignments. AP is one of 14 considerations in the assignment process described in REF A. AP policy and process, however, have not been reviewed since its inception approximately 18 years ago.
