Coast Guard Incident Management Handbook now an app

The Coast Guard Incident Management Handbook (IMH) is the go-to source when participating in an Incident Command System response. For years, responders have tabbed their most-used sections to ease the tedious task of locating what they need.
Well, now there’s an app for that!
The mobile app Incident Management Handbook (mIMH) is an electronic enhancement to the paper or electronic PDF versions of the IMH.
The mIMH is an interactive job aid and quick reference resource for Coast Guard and other first responders for use during incident response operations. The app was designed for use in locations outside cellular and Internet coverage, so it doesn’t require connectivity to use the majority of its features. However, it is not designed to replace the paper version of the IMH.
During an incident, responders can use the app to quickly locate important forms such as the 201, 209, 214 and 214a. Responders can fill out the forms, email and print them all right from their device. However, information cannot be stored within the app so once the form is closed, all information is deleted and cannot be recovered.
Just like the paper version, the mIMH also contains job aids, ICS positions, incident types, the Planning “P” as well as other helpful and needed information responders will need during a response.
The app cannot store any information on a mobile device and does not allow access to the device’s camera, microphone or other stored media.
The app is available now through the Apple app and Google play store. Simply search: Coast Guard IMH.
