The newest episode of the Coast Guard Paratus Report is now live! The Paratus Report is a workforce news program focused at keeping Coast Guard members informed of what’s happening throughout their Coast Guard. The episode will air monthly on the official Coast Guard YouTube channel, and a brief recap with additional information will be provided right here on Coast Guard All Hands.

Cyber Security Awareness Month
October is dedicated to cyber security awareness. While the world wide web has increased our ability to connect easier and faster across the Coast Guard, it is necessary that we protect our organization’s network. Rear Adm. Kevin Lunday, commander of Coast Guard Cyber Command, talks about the importance of cybersecurity on the job. The episode provides tip to ensure that your private information, like a banking account, is secure, and how to keep your family safe online.
This month’s bravo zulu goes to the seven Coast Guard men and women who received a special recognition for their contributions to the Hispanic community and to the Coast Guard’s diversity and inclusion mission.
- Lt. j.g. Ray Lopez, Coast Guard District Seven Command Center in Miami, and Ms. Irma Fuentes, Coast Guard Civil Engineering Unit Miami, were the recipients of the League of the United Latin American Citizens Excellence in Service Award.
- Lt. Katrian Hernandez, Coast Guard Sector Lower Mississippi in Memphis, Tenn., First Class Cadet Ruth Salvatori, Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn., and Ms. Lushens McNamara, Coast Guard Finance Center in Chespapeake, Va., were all presented with the Latina Style Distinguished Service Award.
- Chief Petty Officer Longino Villarreal, Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn., and Petty Officer Second Class Ashley Munnelly, Electronics Support Detachment Houston, received the National Image Meritorious Service Award.
