Written by Coast Guard Vice Commandant Vice Adm. Charles Michel.

On Tuesday, our Commandant, Adm. Paul Zukunft, shared your story with stakeholders from across the Nation and around the world at his second State of the Coast Guard Address.

His remarks showcased you – the 41,000 active duty, 7,000 reserve, 8,500 civilian and 30,000 Auxiliary who are America’s Coast Guard. You are why the Coast Guard is Semper Paratus.

The Commandant also highlighted strategic challenges and opportunities, building our 21st century Coast Guard and our Duty to People. Guided by our clear strategic focus, your operational and mission support success is unmatched. We have tremendous support from the Administration and Congress, including our largest acquisition budget in history.

The videos below feature highlights from this year’s address. You are encouraged to watch and discuss them among peers, subordinates and your command. The Commandant, Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard and I also look forward to engaging directly with you during unit all hands and on social media.

The Commandant ended his remarks by stating he could not be more proud of our Coast Guard. The senior leadership team and I join the Commandant in taking pride in all that you do in your Service to Nation, Duty to People and Commitment to Excellence.
